Our mission

Liberation, sustainability, cultural restoration

Mission

Deconstructing Design, Inc. is dedicated to dismantling systemic inequities by reimagining and reshaping structures that uphold injustice. Through arts, architecture, education, and sustainability, we empower marginalized communities to reclaim spaces, amplify voices, and create new frameworks rooted in justice and resilience.

Vision

We envision a world where design and creativity serve as tools for equity, cultural preservation, and community-led transformation.

Values in practice

Five core values

Each is quoted as adopted, then followed by what it actually decides — because a value that changes no decision is decoration.

  1. Justice & Equity

We center marginalized voices in all that we do.

Centering is a structural commitment, not a tone. It decides who is in the room when a project is scoped, and whose account of a place is treated as evidence.

  2. Sustainability

Our work prioritizes environmentally and socially responsible practices.

Held to a regenerative standard in the Environmental & Sustainability Policy: give back more than is taken, across materials, land, and operations.

  3. Innovation & Creativity

We embrace new ideas and collaborative solutions.

Including the uncomfortable ones. Reckoning in Pixels treats revision as a form of integrity rather than a sign of instability.

  4. Transparency & Accountability

We uphold the highest ethical and financial integrity standards.

Which is why the policy register is public, the revenue split is fixed and published, and every claim on this site names its source.

  5. Community Empowerment

We work alongside, not for, the communities we serve.

The distinction this organization is built on: consultation asks people what they think, control puts the decisions in their hands.
